Ben Rumsey, MAI, is a commercial real estate valuation professional offering appraisal services with over a decade of experience in property valuation across various types of properties throughout the Central Coast, Greater San Francisco Bay Area, and Central Valley. He possesses a deep understanding of local market dynamics, investment fundamentals, and disciplined valuation methodology, which he applies to every assignment.
Ben began his career in commercial appraisal in 2013 and spent much of his career at a respected regional appraisal firm based in Aptos, California. Throughout his career, he has completed numerous Santa Cruz appraisals for lenders, attorneys, investors, public agencies, and private clients. His extensive experience includes industrial, office, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, land, agricultural, and special-purpose properties. His work has been instrumental in financing, acquisitions and dispositions, estate planning, partnership matters, and tax-related purposes. Known for delivering clear, well-supported analyses, Ben reflects both market realities and sound appraisal standards in his reports.
His background working on complex income-producing properties has provided Ben with a strong foundation in income capitalization techniques, market rent analysis, highest and best use studies, and narrative reporting suitable for review and court-ready purposes.
In addition to his valuation expertise, Ben is actively engaged in the commercial real estate brokerage industry, which gives him ongoing exposure to live transactions, leasing trends, investor behavior, and real-time market movement. This dual perspective enhances his ability to approach property valuation with practical insights into how properties trade and perform in the market.
